Bakersfield Lodge #224 and Delano -Wasco Lodge #309 has combined force and held their Annual Ladies Night 2025. This time instead of letting the Ladies prepare and do all the works in the Temple, we decided to surprise them and brought them all to 1933 Speakeasy Bar and Grill and celebrated the night away. We owe it to our ladies to take them out and give them a nice night to celebrate. We really appreciate what they have done and continue to do supporting our lodges. Thank you Ladies!

On December 14, 2024, Bakersfield Lodge No. 224 held their 153rd Open Installation of Officers for 2025. DGM RW Garrett Chan was the Installing Officer. WSir Christian Marano was the Master of Ceremony and WSir Zach Braun was the Installing Chaplain. About 200 members, family and friends attended the event. We want to thank everyone for coming and witnessing this milestone for Bakersfield Lodge No. 224.

Kern County Shrine Club participated in the Labor Day Parade on Sep 1, 2024 at Cambria, California. It was a great weekend with family and friends of the Shriner’s Club in Kern County. WB Steve Wofford, Bros Michael Goodwin, Victor Alcantar, Danielle Garcia and yours truly WB Gerry Mateo and our family enjoyed the weekend camping. We hope that we can have more brethren and family join us next year.

The Division V GL SOI was conducted on June 29, Saturday in Santa Barbara Lodge No 192. It was a very educational and informative School of Instruction lead by the GL WB Lowler and AGL WB Mariano. This was followed by Bakersfield Lodge No 224 Family Day at Santa Barbara Beach to scape the heat waved in Bakersfield.

Brother Jojo Butingan was raised to the sublime Degree of Master Mason on June 27, 2024. It was a very memorable and solemn 3rd degree conferral said WM Eric Aralar. He wants to thank all the Brethren for stepping up and for all the support. A very impressive 3rd Degree Lecture and presentation by WB Gerry T. Mateo, 1st Section execution SD Kenneth Pascual Mangahas and KS Bro Jun Angeles. A special thank you to Bro Matthew Linder from Taft Midway Lodge No. 426 for your participation. Thank you and may our GAOTU Bless us all!

For the past three months Bakersfield Lodge has been very busy tending to our candidates conferrals. On March 21, 2024 our Brother Todd Stoner was successfully raised to the sublime degree of MM. Several of our members was present and visiting sojourner WB Richard Wright PM of Lodi Lodge No. 256 celebrated this very special night.On April 11, Bro Jojo Butingan was passed to a FC Degree without a problem. On April 18, Brother Jonathan Alfaro was successfully raised to the sublime degree of MM after an excellent proficiency of the Second Degree. Lastly on April 25, Brother Danielle Garcia was also successfully raised to the sublime degree of MM. It was a busy times for Bakersfield Lodge No. 224 and we thank all our brothers who was there to support us and joining these solemn occasion for our newly raised brethren.

On May 16, 2024 Bakersfield Lodge celebrated Mother’s day to a surprise Wine Tasting dinner at “Wine Me Up” Restaurant in Bakersfield. In token of our appreciation to our Ladies this well deserve event for them was a great success. Thank you to all who joined us. Cheers!

Last April 20, 2024 Bakersfield Lodge No. 224 joined many volunteers in Bakersfield, California in the “Great American Cleanup” headed by the Mayor herself Honorable Karen Goh! Many of our members spend their whole morning picking up trash and cleaning a park and roads in and around Bakersfield. Special thanks to Mayor Goh for inviting us in this great Community Project. Bakersfield Lodge No. 224’s Worshipful Master Eric Aralar led us in this great human endeavor to our environment. Thank you WM!

Our Annual Ladies Night on February 17 was a huge success! We had lots of food and dancing with The New Normal Band until midnight. To show our appreciation to all the ladies we will continue to this every year. Thanks to everyone that lend a hand preparing for this event. Special thanks to all the ladies!
